Easter

Decorating Easter eggs has been a tradition for thousands of years. The open shell symbolizes the empty tomb. In biblical times, eggs were stained red to represent the blood of Jesus Christ after he was crucified on the cross.

Eggs soon became a symbol for resurrection to mark the rise of Christ. Today, the custom has adapted somewhat; the giving of chocolate eggs are the modern-day tradition.
